Arijit Khan is an IEEE senior member, an ACM distinguished speaker, and an associate professor in the Department of Computer Science, Aalborg University, Denmark. He earned his Ph.D. from UC Santa Barbara, USA and did a post-doc at ETH Zurich, Switzerland. He has been an assistant professor at NTU Singapore. Arijit is the recipient of the IBM Ph.D. Fellowship (2012-13), a VLDB Distinguished Reviewer award (2022), and a SIGMOD Distinguished PC award (2024). He published more than 80 papers in premier data management and mining venues, e.g., SIGMOD, VLDB, TKDE, ICDE, WWW, SDM, EDBT, CIKM, WSDM, and TKDD. Arijit co-presented tutorials at VLDB, ICDE, CIKM, and DSAA, served/ is serving as an associate editor of IEEE TKDE and ACM TKDD journals, and wrote a book on uncertain graphs in the Morgan & Claypool’s Synthesis Lectures on Data Management.
Yuxiang Wang is an IEEE/ACM member, a China Computer Federation (CCF) senior member, an executive committee member of CCF Technical Committee of Database (TCDB), and an associate professor in the School of Computer Science, Hangzhou Dianzi University, China. He earned his Ph.D. from Southeast University, China, and previously worked at HUAWEI Hangzhou Research Institute. He was a visiting scholar at NTU and worked with Prof. Arijit Khan. His research areas include vector databases, graph neural networks, and graph data mining. He published more than 40 papers in the data management area, e.g., SIGMOD, VLDB, ICDE, SIGIR, NeurIPS, CIKM, and TKDD. He has served as a PC member or area chair for KDD, WWW, NeurIPS, ECAI, SDM, ICDM, ACL, and IJCAI.
Weixi Zhang received the Ph.D. degree from the School of Mathematics Science, Peking University, Beijing China, in 2020. Currently, he is a Principal Engineer with the Theory Laboratory, Central Research Institute, 2012 Laboratories, Huawei Technologies Company Ltd., Hong Kong. His research interests include graph algorithm, graph data mining, and vector databases. He has published several papers on these topics in VLDB, KDD, ICDE, and ICDM.
Yao Tian is currently a 4th-year Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), supervised by Prof. Xiaofang Zhou. She earned her Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Mathematics from Zhejiang University and Sichuan University, respectively. Her research interests include vector databases, such as approximate nearest neighbor search, hybrid search, and multi-modal search, as well as machine learning for databases, including learned index, learned filter, and learned optimizer. She has contributed to several publications on these topics in SIGMOD, VLDB, ICDE, and TKDE.
M. Tamer Özsu is a University Professor at Cheriton School of Computer Science at University of Waterloo and Co-Director of Math Data Science Program. He holds a Distinguished Visiting Professor position at Tsinghua University, China and serves as the Founding Director of the Waterloo-Huawei Joint Innovation Laboratory. His research is on distributed data management and managing non-conventional data. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada, the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), the Asia-Pacific Artificial Intelligence Association (AAIA), and Balsillie School of International Affairs (BSIA); he is also Life Fellow of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). He is an elected member of the Science Academy of Türkiye, and a member of Sigma Xi, The Scientific Research Honor Society.
